In this month’s feature, we Get to know Gizem Michopoulos, Systems Process Lead – Operations.

What is your role at the Hub?

As Systems Process Lead – Operations, I oversee and coordinate business processes and systems to ensure they operate efficiently and align with organisational strategic priorities. I focus on managing change and driving process improvements through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders as well as monitoring management information (MI) performance metrics.

What is the biggest challenge you face in your role?

Implementing change and new ways of working is the most challenging and rewarding part of my job. Bridging the gap between business needs and the intricacies of specialist categories to ensure all parties understand and align on objectives.

What do you find most rewarding about your role, or working in the NHS?

I really enjoy working in a challenging yet impactful environment and knowing that I am helping to drive meaningful changes that positively contribute to enhancing patient care, reducing inefficiencies and supporting frontline staff.

What was your first job?

My first role was working as a research scholar in the gene therapy space. I have always been driven by a love of innovation, solving complex data problems and improving healthcare outcomes for patients.

Tell us about your hobbies

I’m passionate about food, whether experimenting with recipes or trying new cuisines. I also enjoy reading and I’ve recently taken up sewing.

What would your dream holiday be?

My dream holiday would be the perfect mix of adventure, family-bonding time and creating unforgettable memories. I love beautiful natural landscapes, wildlife and enjoying locally sourced foods.
