HCSA Women’s Network Conference 2025: Accelerating Action

EOECPH joined colleagues from across the NHS procurement community for the Health Care Supply Association Women’s Network Conference 2025.

On 10 September 2025, eight delegates from EOECPH joined colleagues from across the NHS procurement community for the Health Care Supply Association Women’s Network Conference 2025. The event took place at the Library of Birmingham and brought together a powerful mix of voices and ideas to explore equity and the future of procurement.

The day opened with a warm welcome from Tracey Cramond, HCSA Women’s Network Chair, who set the tone for a programme that balanced professional insights with personal stories. First, Dr Chelcie Jewitt, co-founder of Surviving in Scrubs, initiated a powerful discussion on sexism, sexual harassment and sexual assault in healthcare settings. Next, Rebecca Frogatt, a senior client relationship manager working closely with the NHS, breached the difficult subject of baby loss and presented an honest and moving account that highlighted the importance of compassion in leadership. Jen Kervarrec and David de Wet from EcoVate explored how procurement professionals can adapt and innovate in the age of AI to streamline procurement processes.

In the afternoon, Rachel Philpotts, author of The Burnout Bible, led a Corporate Burnout Workshop and helped attendees incorporate practical strategies for wellbeing into their demanding day-to-day lives. Lee Chambers from Male Allies UK encouraged a constructive dialogue about the role of men in supporting gender equity. The conference also introduced HCSA’s Charity of the Year, Young Lives vs Cancer, offering delegates an opportunity to engage with wider community impact. In the final session, Mary Mundy from Capsticks interviewed three delegates who shared their experiences of reasonable workplace adjustments and alternative routes into procurement.

The day closed leaving attendees with renewed energy and commitment to champion equity and wellbeing across the NHS procurement landscape.

The HCSA Women’s Network continues to be a vital platform for sharing stories, supporting professional growth and ensuring that the NHS procurement community remains inclusive and forward-looking.
