In this month’s feature we Get to know Rebecca Turnbull, Business Lead – Operations.
At the Hub, Becca is known as the go-to person when you need help, support or advice. She is incredibly approachable, always happy to help, and clearly enjoys supporting others – nothing ever feels like too much trouble for her.
She’s the person people turn to for anything related to finance, recruitment or electronic staff record (ESR) and she always gives clear guidance. What makes Becca such a brilliant colleague is her constant positivity – she is always smiling, supportive and genuinely caring. She is easy to work with, thoughtful and clearly cares about both the people and the Hub itself.

Could you briefly tell us about your role and your team.
I am the Business Lead in the Operations team, mainly focusing on HR, recruitment and finance. I support key programmes of work, manage systems and processes and make sure people have what they need to deliver for our members.
Tell us about your career before joining the Hub?
My first ever job was working at a bowling club café, I used to love chatting with the members and serving up cups of tea! Since then, I’ve worked in a variety of different roles in HR, project and admin work and that journey eventually led me here to the Collaborative Procurement Hub.
What makes you proud about working at the Hub?
I’m proud to be part of a team that makes such a positive impact. It’s rewarding to know that by supporting the Procurement teams, I’m helping them support others and contribute to something bigger.
What big challenges keep you on your toes?
The pace and variety of the work definitely keep me on my toes. It keeps things interesting and means I’m always learning.
What’s one thing colleagues might be surprised to learn about you?
I’ve hiked up an active volcano and jumped out of a plane… twice.
Outside of work, what helps you switch off and recharge after a busy day?
I love spending time outdoors – whether that’s going for a run, a walk, or a good hike. I enjoy heading to the gym, relaxing with a book, or going out for food with friends. Travelling to new places is also one of my favourite things to do.
What kind of traveler are you? What’s your dream holiday?
I enjoy a mix of relaxing and exploring when I travel. I like visiting new countries and going somewhere with both beaches and mountains, so I can relax or get out for a hike.
I’ve worked with Becca for nearly two years now, and she’s honestly a breath of fresh air. She brings energy, kindness and reliability to everything she does and is a real asset to the Collaborative Procurement Hub.
