In this month’s feature we Get to know Jill Kettle from our Corporate, Clinical and Regulation division.
What is your role at the Hub?
I am the Senior Clinical Products and Services specialist at the Hub.
I often act as a conduit between NHS Supply Chain and trusts to support them in identifying savings opportunities through product switches and collaborative working, but ICS and region-wide.
I am a registered nurse with decades of clinical experience. I often use my clinical expertise to advise medicines management teams, and sit on steering groups in trusts across the region to provide specialist knowledge on clinical products and patient pathways.
I also recently stood up a Clinical Procurement Specialists Network in the East of England to provide a platform for shared learnings and collaborative working.
What is the biggest challenge you face in your role?
Coordinating different data sources! There is so much data available; accessing the right source and accurately interpreting it can be a real challenge.
What do you find most rewarding about your role, or working in the NHS?
I am first and foremost a registered nurse and enjoy working with people from different organisations with differing clinical priorities. I most enjoy being able to save the NHS money and making efficiencies across a wide variety of clinical products and patient pathways that ultimately bring about clinical improvements for the patients we serve. I find every day is a learning day!
What was your first job?
I worked as a sales assistant in a bakery before starting my nursing career.
Tell us about your hobbies
My passion is my pets, of which there are many. I have two horses, two dogs and two cats. Dave the cat is often self-featured on Teams meetings!
What would your dream holiday be?
I had a Colorado ranch holiday a few years ago, which was awesome! I would love to do that again, perhaps in another state in the USA.
