Get to know Amie Allday

In our ‘Get to know’ interview feature we'll be introducing a different member of staff each month, to give you an insight into the different roles and expertise at the Hub and to meet the people that perform them.

In this month’s feature we Get to know Amie Allday, Procurement Specialist – Corporate and Clinical Services

What is your role at the Hub?

I am a Procurement Specialist working within the Corporate Services team. We own and manage a wide range of frameworks from Dermatology to Statutory Audit. As part of the Corporate, Clinical and Regulation Division we manage the day to day running of these frameworks such as access requests to collecting management information. I also support our members with their procurement requirements from proofreading tender documents to the full running of either further competitions or bespoke tenders. I am also part of the Atamis ‘superuser’ team, so I support colleagues to navigate their way through Atamis.

What is the biggest challenge you face in your role?

I think the changes the new Procurement Act 2023 brought with it and navigating my way round all of these.

What do you find most rewarding about your role, or working in the NHS?

I have worked for the NHS for the last 18 years. I think what I find the most rewarding is knowing that I am enhancing a patient’s journey. This patient could be my mum, sister or husband. So, to know that somewhere in the background, the work that I am doing will benefit the patient, makes me smile.

What was your first job?

Apart from washing cars for extra pocket money, my first job was in a pub, waitressing and then helping in the kitchen. This job gave me confidence – hard for some to imagine but I used to be very shy.

Tell us about your hobbies

Going away in our caravan to Cromer, walking the dog and food – love my food!

What would your dream holiday be?

Somewhere hot and sunny, cocktails and a sun bed.
