National Homecare Medicines Services Management

National Homecare Medicines Committee

The National Homecare Medicines Committee (NHMC) is a national committee including representatives from the NHS, supplier and pharmaceutical manufacturer associations and regulators. The key aim of the NHMC is to act as the national focus for promoting, developing and improving homecare medicines services. It advises the wider NHS on all matters relating to homecare and collaboratively works with industry to support best practise.

The East of England NHS Collaborative Procurement Hub (EoECPH) hosts the East of England regional homecare specialist who represents clinical referring centres in the East of England on the National Homecare Medicines Committee (NHMC).   See our 'Regional Homecare Governance Model' page for more information.

The EoECPH regional homecare lead is currently appointed as the NHMC Standardisation Sub-Group chair, leading a large programme of standardisation works focused on the development of guidance, templates and other supporting documentation.

Many past outputs of the NHMC are available in the Royal Pharmaceutical Society Handbook for Homecare Services and on the Specialist Pharmacy Service website.
