Why this framework matters to you
The East of England NHS Collaborative Procurement Hub is utilising the Government Commercial Agency (GCA) framework agreement for Purchase of Standard and Specialist Vehicles (RM6244) for the provision of base vehicles for conversion to double crewed ambulances (DCA)s. The mini framework under Lot 5, appoints suppliers that trusts can call off and order base vehicles for their trust.
Buyers should note that Lots 1 and 2 have the ability to be extended twice by 12 months until 14 January 2028.
Lot 3 cannot be extended beyond its initial term (14th January 2026) due to technological advances in battery electric vehicles. In the event that a buyer wants to procure a battery electric base vehicle between the period of 15 January 2026 and 28 November 2026, buyers will utilise the GCA agreement RM6244, Purchase of Standard and Specialist Vehicles, Lot 5: Bluelight Light and Medium Commercial Vehicles up to 7.5T (Emergency Services).
The Hub and the GCA have partnered up to ensure that the replacement GCA framework agreement RM6382 Purchase of Standard and Specialist Vehicles will have a lot 8 Ambulance – Light and Medium Commercial Vehicles available to buyers from 29th November 2026.
