Pharmaceutical Wholesale Services KPI Dashboard
03 September 2018

We are pleased to announce that the Hub has launched a regional Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) dashboard report for Pharmaceutical Wholesale Services. This follows a national set of KPIs which have been developed by a working group of NHS Specialists and the Healthcare Distribution Association and is based on the successes of that provided in the Homecare Medicines Services market.

The Hub KPI dashboard report provides Trusts with clear data relating to the quality of the services provided (for example, order lines on time and in full), as well as sight of their own performance measures, such as order lines per order and utilisation of electronic ordering.

This report also offers members the opportunity to benchmark data against other Trusts in the East of England region and compare quality indicators between suppliers; a level of data accessibility that was previously not available in the Pharmaceutical Wholesaler Services market.

We anticipate this report will offer members the ability to objectively quantify the current service levels. It will also enable Trusts to identify areas of focus to further improve both the services provided by the pharmaceutical wholesalers and the efficiency of the pharmacy procurement process.

Trusts have been well engaged and keen for the arrival of the dashboard, with the first report containing July’s data recently shared with members. Looking forward, the next 3-6 months will be focussed on working with Trusts and suppliers to review and refine the data submitted by the suppliers.
