The Hub Leads on the National Bladder and Bowel Health Project
22 November 2019

The Hub's Integrated Care team continues to gain traction one year after its launch; Stephanie Rose, Head of Pharmacy and Integrated Care has been appointed as chair the Stoma workstream of the National Bladder and Bowel Health Project.  Stoma Care is a major area of focus for our Integrated Care team. Following the successful StoMap Programme launch event in June, we have now completed the scoping phase. The resulting Baseline Report and Stoma Nurse Survey can now be viewed on our website, and we will shortly be publishing our Ostomate Survey following extensive engagement with patients across the East of England.  As we enter the implementation phase of the programme, we will work closely with our STP/ICS members to help shape future services and how care is delivered across these local systems.

National Bladder and Bowel Health Project
The National Bladder and Bowel Health Project consists of four clinical workstreams: Bladder, Bowel, Paediatrics and Stoma.

Stoma specialists, Patients and Carers, and NHS England and Improvement clinical leads are members of each workstream, all with the collective objectives to:

  • Understand patient needs
  • Improve patient safety and outcomes
  • Agree national standards
  • Promote best practice
