Preparing NHS Workforce for a 'No-Deal' Brexit
20 November 2018

As our customers are likely aware, the Department of Health and Social Care is developing plans for the potential of a ‘no-deal’ Brexit. This includes tasking Trusts with completing a self-assessment methodology for reviewing all existing contracts within their organisation.
The four Hubs, as the operators of the National Clinical Staffing Framework, have sent a questionnaire to all agency suppliers listed on the contract requesting information on their anticipated issues and delivery risks that could result from the eventuality of a ‘no-deal’ Brexit. Responses to this questionnaire will demonstrate the market’s risk management and help inform contingency planning around this situation.

The deadline for suppliers to send their responses is 26th November.  At that stage, we will consolidate the information and share with our customers at the first opportunity. This will reduce the level of duplication that would otherwise exist should every Trust contact suppliers individually.

This information will only be applicable the Workforce and Temporary Worker sections of the NHSI document, but we hope sharing detailed market intelligence will enable you to more easily complete those assessments and, importantly, to help us all to consider operational risks and priorities in advance of next spring.
