Spotlight On Hub Commissioning Partner TCI's Award

The Consultation Institute's Rhion Jones Honoured with AHCM Lifetime Achievement Award

Rhion Jones, Programme Director of the Consultation Institute - one of the Hub's Commissioning Framework partners - was awarded the Jonathan Street Lifetime Achievement Award, at the Association of Healthcare Communications & Marketing (AHCM) on March 16 2017, for his longstanding contribution to healthcare communications.

Rhion Jones is presented with his award.

The AHCM is the primary independent network for people working in communications, public engagement and marketing for the NHS. The Institute argues for better engagement and a clear priority for improving public confidence in forthcoming service changes, for a more detailed Institute view of STP implementation, click here.

Presenting the Lifetime Achievement award, AHCM Chair Lynda Scott, said that “Rhion is the kind of person who’s passionate about communications and engagement, he’s persistent and tenacious and we love him for it. He’s had a lifetime achievement about what he thinks is right for people, which is that they should be consulted on the service that is the treasure of the public, the NHS, which is about to change”.

Rhion Jones is considered a leading authority on Public Engagement and Consultation.  A founding Director of the Consultation Institute, he is co-author of “The Art of Consultation” – still the only major book on public consultation, and has delivered over 300 training courses and Masterclasses.

For over thirty years he has specialised in helping public bodies interact with a wide range of stakeholders, authoring more than forty White Papers, and briefings on all aspects of this relationship.  Since 2003 over 12,000 person-days of training, based on courses he invented have been delivered. Rhion is additionally in demand as an entertaining Keynote Speaker and Special Adviser, particularly on the Law of Consultation, and its implications for Government and the NHS.

Rhion’s current projects include advising the NHS in England, Scotland, and Wales, and in England, he has a particular focus on the impact of the Localism Act and developments in consultation law.  He is a prolific writer on the subject, having written over 300 different Topic papers and over 20 full Briefing Papers for the Institute.

The Hub is proud to be associated with Rhion and the Consultation Institute (tCI), and we are very pleased that tCI’s consultation and engagement services are available under Lot 2 of the Hub’s Commissioning Partner Framework.
