David John, Chief Executive Officer
David has been CEO of the hub since its inception in 2007 and was one of the prime movers behind its creation. His career began a world away from procurement - as an attacking midfielder for Bristol Rovers FC. After entering the commercial world, David spent several years working for the Thomas Cook Group before joining the American-based Cendant Corp, whose extensive brand portfolio includes Avis, Ramada and Century 21 Real Estate. David joined the NHS in 2004, tasked with setting up the Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire Supply Confederation to pilot collaborative procurement in the East of England.
Howard Rolfe, Procurement Director
Before joining as Procurement Director in June 2008, Howard was Vice Chairman of the Hub’s Supervisory Board. In a business career spanning 30 years, Howard was a senior executive with Marks and Spencer. From 1997 to 1999, he completed a two year secondment to the Cabinet Office, during which time he chaired the 1998 review of procurement within the NHS. Howard is a former Non Executive Director of Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation and the Leader of Uttlesford District Council in North Essex.
